The Hemacytometer Kit is useful for manually counting sperm in situations where our Densimeter cannot accurately determine semen concentration. This happens where samples are contaminated with dirt or other debris, as well as in samples that have already been extended which is typical in a frozen semen breeding program. Each Hemacytometer Re-Supply Kit provides enough supplies for eight measurements. It does not include the ARS Capillary Holder (537-845).

A Hemacytometer is used to manually count sperm in situations where our Densimeter cannot accurately determine semen concentration. This happens where samples are contaminated with dirt or other debris, as well as in samples that have already been extended which is typical in a frozen semen breeding program.

The ARS Capillary Holder is a reusable clamp designed to manipulate the 10 μl volume capillary and is a recommended accessory for the Thrombo-tic® "PUR" Plus dilution system.

Cover Slips are placed over the semen on a glass slide and are available in one ounce packages containing approximately 144 Cover Slips.

These Glass Slides for microscopes are 25 mm x 75 mm x 1 mm in size and available in boxes of 72 pieces.

Thrombo-tic® are single-user dilution chambers, typically used with a hemacytometer, to ensure an accurate 1:100 dilution. Diluted semen from the thrombo-tic® is then loaded into the Hemacytometer. Hancock Stain is an Eosin-Nigrosin stain used to determine the number of live-dead spermatozoa in an ejaculate and to analyze morphological characteristics. Spermatozoa with intact cell membranes will not absorb the stain while those with damaged cell membranes will absorb the stain and appear darker. Hancock Stain is sold in 10ml bottles.
